In line with the midterm updating of the Central Luzon Regional Development Plan (CLRDP) 2017-2022, NEDA 3 led by RD Leon M. Dacanay Jr. initiated a one-day technical session with representatives from Provincial/Highly-Urbanized City Planning and Development Offices on 4 July 2019 at NEDA Regional Office 3, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The session aims to discuss thoroughly the initial assessment of the four sectors (i.e. economic, social, infrastructure, and development administration) and to validate and identify the emerging issues and concerns at the local level.

In his opening remarks, RD Dacanay emphasized the importance of ensuring vertical linkages of national, regional and local priorities and thus the CLRDP should be reflective of Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plans (PDPFPs) and Comprehensive Development Plans (CDPs).

The technical session is among the first in a series of activities to update the CLRDP 2017-2022 after the Regional Development Council (RDC) III approved the Regional Updating Guidelines on 27 June 2019. The Plan, which was formulated in 2016, reflects the development agenda of the current administration highlighting the role of the region in achieving the overall goal of a more inclusive growth, high trust and resilient society and a globally competitive knowledge economy.

The CLRDP 2017-2022 is geared towards the country’s long-term vision for 2040 of a Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Buhay para sa lahat.
