The Central Luzon Regional Development Council (RDC III) in collaboration with Multisys Technologies Corporation (MTC), held an online orientation on 21 May 2020, on the use of StaySafe.ph—a website and a mobile device application for Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) tracking, health-condition reporting, and social distancing system. MTC developed the Staysafe website and mobile device application.
RDC III is advancing the use of technology to come to grips with the challenges that the country is confronting as the pandemic demonstrate alarming levels of spread and severity in communities. Members of RDC III such as local government units, regional line agencies and private sector representatives were enjoined to utilize the website and the application, and help the region and the entire country steer through this highly infectious disease.
Dr. Reynato C. Arimbuyutan, RDC III Co-Chairman and a Private Sector Representative for Social Development who addressed the participants at the beginning of the orientation, highlighted the importance of community-driven contact tracing system as a faster and thus more effective means to collect information and improve the response to COVID-19.
MTC’s CEO and founder, Mr. David Almirol Jr. discussed the key features of the free application such as (i) Citizens Health Condition Reporting System, (ii) Digital & Manual Contact Tracing System, (iii) Health and Case Mapping System, (iv) Social Distancing System & Notification, (v) Company & LGU Monitoring & Response System, (vi) COVID-19 Cases Management System, (vii) Hospital & Frontliners Monitoring & Response; (viii) SMS Blaster for IATF, NTF-Covid-19, DOH & DILG; (ix) Track and Trace Modules, Alarms & Notification, (x) Centralized Admin Access & Analytics, (xi) COVID-19 Worldwide Updates, and (xii) Health Tips & Reminders.
Mr. Almirol stressed that application users can significantly contribute to the fight against COVID-19 by simply reporting the health conditions of their respective family members while not compromising their rights to data privacy. The information collected from app users will help LGUs to (i) immediately attend to their peoples’ needs, and (ii) make informed and timely decisions to keep their constituents safe in the midst of this pandemic.
StaySafe.PH was adopted by the Interagency Task Force (IATF-EID) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on 22 April 2020, as the official social-distancing, health-condition-reporting and contact-tracing system that will assist in the government’s response to COVID-19.
Stay Home, Stay Safe.
