Special Committe on Competitiveness

SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON COMPETITIVENESS (SCC)

RDC Res. No. 31, s. 2012 “Organizing an RDC 3 Special Committee on Competitiveness as the Regional Body Primarily In-charge of Raising the Competitiveness of Central Luzon” August 2, 2012.

Composition

The SCC is composed of Regional Directors of DTI, NEDA, NSO, DOLE, DILG, DOT, DEPED, BLGF, DOE, two representatives from the Academe, two representatives from the private sector, and a representative from the National Competitiveness Council to be provided secretariat support by the National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center, NEDA, DOLE, DILG, one Academe, one PSR and NCC.

Functions/Responsibilities

a)     Collect a standard set of competitiveness indicators on at least an annual basis, compare and track them against a set of benchmark data

b)     Integrate data collection in the course curriculum of RDC 3 partner universities and colleges

c)     Improve “ease of doing business” by streamlining local business processes, permits and licenses

d)     Develop and upgrade the skills of Local Investment Promotion Officers

e)     Conduct of feedback surveys and other public opinion surveys
