In its bid to boost tourism in the region, the DOT 3 with the Subic-Clark Alliance for Development Council and the Tourism Promotions Board held the first Central Luzon Tourism Investment Summit and Business Exchange (CLTISBEX) on May 4-5, 2022 at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

The two-day summit brought together potential investors and the region’s tourism stakeholders ꟷ  local government units (LGUs) and investment promotion agencies (IPAs) ꟷ for opportunity to present the region’s tourism development potentials, as well as explore possible collaboration.

Poised as the new center of business and leisure, Central Luzon is counting on private sector investment to push tourism development in the region to the next level. This is to accelerate the growth of the tourism industry as a strategy toward job creation and as a platform for sustaining regional economic growth and development.

Presented during the event were the tourism investment priorities of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Clark Freeport Zone, Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), New Clark City, Freeport Area of Bataan, and LGUs of Nueva Ecija, Palayan City, Tarlac, and City of San Jose Del Monte.

Among proposed tourism developments are TIEZA’s flagship tourism enterprise zones in the region, namely: Mt. Samat TEZ, Clark TEZ, and La Jolla TEZ in Bataan province.

With such developments in the offing, Central Luzon hopes to be able to recoup its lost momentum, recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and help the industry get back on its feet.
